Multi-Phase Rollout to Begin with Automating Conflict of Interest Disclosures
BEAVERTON, OR, November 24, 2009 – Click Commerce announced today that the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) will use the company’s eResearch Portal software to fully automate a variety of research administration and compliance processes, including those associated with Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Conflict of Interest (COI). The new system provides researchers with a single platform and interface for functions that now require separate paper processes as well as duplication of effort. The initial implementation will provide full lifecycle support of COI disclosures for both researchers and institutional officials from initial submission and modifications to annual review.
“Providing a comprehensive, user-friendly platform for our faculty is very important to UTSA, and Click offers just what we need,” said Marianne Woods, Senior Associate Vice President for Research Administration, UTSA. “Having a single system capable of integrating disclosures with our IRB and IACUC processes will eliminate hours of administrative work while helping us meet the challenge of managing a growing volume of research studies.”
“In today’s rigorous regulatory climate, we are pleased to see the University of Texas at San Antonio take advantage of Click Commerce eResearch Portal’s ability to help ensure transparency and accountability while streamlining research administration and compliance processes,” said Nick Stier, president of Click Commerce. “We look forward to continuing to deliver solutions to UTSA that increase their efficiency and effectiveness in managing the business of research.”
The University of Texas at San Antonio and many other leading research institutions use Click Commerce’s browser-based, secure eResearch Portal to automate a wide range of administrative processes, including those associated with IRB, IACUC, COI, Grants, and Clinical Trials Participant Tracking and Billing, among others.
