An Agenda Focused on Best Practices and Shared Experiences Drives Record Attendance
BEAVERTON, OR, May 28, 2009 – Click Commerce Research and Healthcare, the solutions company for the business of research, recently completed its 7th annual C3 User Group meeting, a yearly forum for business users of Click’s eResearch Portal platform for research administration, compliance, and clinical trials. Among the record 89 attendees from 28 institutions were representatives from some of the largest academic medical centers and research organizations in the U.S., including Johns Hopkins University, The Ohio State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Washington University. Organized and hosted by the University of Michigan, this year’s two-day conference featured speakers from Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Huron Consulting, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Medical College of Wisconsin, Ochsner Health System, the University of Michigan, the University of Southern California, and the University of Utah as well as Click. Panels, presentations and workshops covered diverse topics of common interest and included ROI drivers for clinical trials, data warehousing, effective solution integration, and institutional report generation. As they have in previous gatherings, C3 members exchanged lessons learned from their various eResearch Portal implementations.
This event followed the company’s C3 Developer Forum (C3DF) in February, the industry’s only conference specifically aimed at technology professionals who develop and configure software applications for eResearch. Recognizing the varying needs of business users and developers, Click launched C3DF last year. This year’s forum, the 2nd, was held at the company’s Beaverton, OR, offices and drew 40 attendees from 24 institutions and two consultancies. Together the two forums give users throughout the research community an opportunity to weigh in with valuable experiences, best practices, business issues driving eResearch use and development, technical tips and training, and input into the Click product roadmap.
“The growing enthusiasm for these events underscores the strategic value our customers are finding in their software investment,” said Nick Stier, president, Click Commerce Research and Healthcare. “Together C3 and C3DF also provide the forum for customers to map out the issues we’ll all be facing tomorrow. If we can help them lighten administrative loads, then their research enterprise is that much more competitive and focused on producing scientific results.”
With more than 130 applications installed, Click Commerce is the only provider of eResearch systems whose configuration customers control. More than 45 strategic-minded research organizations throughout North America use the company’s eResearch Portal platform to accelerate and strengthen funding processes, operations management, and compliance oversight.
