Multi-Phase Rollout Planned
BEAVERTON, OR, February 10, 2009 – Click Commerce, an ITW company (NYSE: ITW), continues to gain new ground in the eResearch software space by announcing today that The Ohio State University will use Click Commerce’s eResearch Portal compliance software to fully automate a wide of variety of research administration and compliance processes, including those associated with Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), University Laboratory Animal Resources (ULAR) Animal Ordering and Operations, Conflict of Interest (COI), and Safety Committees. As one of the leading research universities in the U.S., Ohio State will gain new process efficiency across the institution’s multiple research communities in a series of research automation initiatives to be rolled out in a multi-phase approach. The goal is to dramatically reduce the administrative burden on researchers.
Using eResearch Portal, the institution will automate Ohio State workflow processes, shorten turnaround times, eliminate routine submission errors and omissions, enhance protocol collaboration security, and alert researchers of approaching deadlines. Click’s configurable, browser-based system distributes data instantly among research teams throughout the institution regardless of location.
Click Commerce will provide Ohio State with the tools, best practices, and training necessary to enable university personnel to continuously improve internal processes and forms across several compliance groups and to seamlessly integrate a variety of existing administrative business systems. The automated system will meet Ohio State’s immediate needs and will also allow the university to expand the system over time.
