New Solution Will Create an End-to-End Pre- and Post-Award Grants Management System
BEAVERTON, OR, October 19, 2009 – Click Commerce announced today that the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) will use Click Commerce’s eResearch Portal software to automate collaborative creation, review, submission and post-awards processing of research grant funding proposals. The agreement represents growing adoption of Click Commerce’s eResearch Portal software by institutions focused on the physical sciences.
UCAR, a nonprofit consortium of universities that manages the National Center for Atmospheric Research for the National Science Foundation as well as the UCAR Community Programs, will deploy Click Commerce’s fully configurable eResearch Portal for Grants and Contracts to create an end-to-end pre- and post-award grants management system. The software will support pre-award funding processes, including proposal and budget development, proposal submission and tracking, and pre-award contractual activity. Post-award, the system will accelerate a wide range of grants management processes, including tracking of award data and multiple funding streams, tracking and reporting on award deliverables, automating renewal and expiration notices, and tracking contract negotiations. In addition, Click Commerce Web Services will enable secure data transfer between eResearch Portal applications and UCAR human resources and financial business systems while Click Commerce Professional Services will provide tools, training, and best practices to ensure the new system conforms to UCAR’s research environment.
“UCAR’s strategy for collaborative grants and contracts management will leverage the contributions of more people throughout the entire funding sequence,” said Nick Stier, president of Click Commerce. “We’re glad to support UCAR’s mission to enable collaborative research in atmospheric and Earth system science.”
